After twelve years playing in the NBA for the Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns, Wayman has continued his meteoric rise landing his first five albums in the Billboard Top Ten.
“What a great facility for artists to come and create their music,” stated Wayman. “We were truly blessed and honored by the visit,” stated Richard Brown, Talent Coordinator and Producer with TheTrackShack. “I can’t wait to come back to Sac and lay down some tracks here,” stated Wayman.
Wayman Tisdale was born in Fort Worth, Texas and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The son of a minister, he still embraces his Bible Belt roots which have shaped his strongly faith-based life. Tisdale first fell in love with his chosen instrument while watching the bass players in his hometown church, led by his father, the late Rev. Louis Tisdale. Tisdale recalls, “I thought they were the coolest cats. They got to stand and do their thing in the back. I’d watch their fingering and how they played.” One day, his father bought young Wayman and his two brothers a Mickey Mouse guitar each. Although his brothers quickly turned them into paddles and baseball bats, Wayman immediately began teaching himself how to play.
Derrick (D.O.A.) Allen was surprised to find a new recording studio in his own backyard that was able to support top artists. As one of music’s most sought after producers, Derrick is fresh off the road from playing bass and touring with Lionel Richie. During breaks, Derrick has garnered production or writing credits in Hip-Hop, Rap, Gospel, and Jazz, including work with Blackgirl, Bobby Brown, Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E, Jasper, Desmond Pringle, Disney Music Publishing, Dr. Cornel West, Jubilees, The Pilgrim, The Tommies, Tyrese, and Virtue. Besides playing with Wayman Tisdale and Lionel Richie, Derrick has also played with Brandy, Janet Jackson, and The Time.
